Abnormal chin and facial growth

Sometimes when the tonsils and/or adenoids are extremely large, they can cause abnormal chin or facial growth to occur. Usually this results in an under-formed chin and cheekbones.

Reducing or removing the tonsils or adenoids that are causing the obstruction can help prevent further abnormal growth, but additional surgical treatment may be required to correct the under-formed chin and cheekbones.
